Communicate, Collaborate, Share - 17 Reasons Why You Should Use Qnext for Instant Messaging

Most of us must be having multiple instant messaging contacts like GTalk, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, etc. When required to be online in more than one of above accounts we have to use a seperate IM client for each which later becomes difficult to manage. And most importantly they cannot be used as a collaborative tool and hence not 2.0 ish.

Communicate, Collaborate, Share - 17 Reasons why you should use Qnext

Qnext is an advanced, easy-to-use P2P based software that lets you sign in to 7 IM accounts simultaneously! Most importantly it lets you communicate, collaborate and share digital content (music, images, files, foldes) too in real time.

BTW its FREE!

Here are some of the reasons why you should switch to Qnext instead of using your favorite instant messaging client:

  1. Simple and stupid setup and registration process
  2. Supports IM for iChat, GTalk, Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ, Jabber and MSN
  3. Adding an IM account is fast, easy and hassle free
  4. Includes all the functions your favorite IM gives
  5. Spell checker is available (disabled by default since in a chat client it will be hardly of any use)

Increase Download Limit; Speed Up your Internet Explorer

Increase Download Limit; Speed Up your Internet Explorer

Did you know that Internet Explorer 7 or earlier versions (IE 6, IE 5.5, IE 5, etc.) was limited to a download limit of 2 at any instance. Which means when you enter a web page URI in your browser’s address bar and click on ‘Go’ your browser sends a maximum download request of 2 to the server from where the web page is getting served. In other words whether the web page contains images, style-sheets, scripts, swf objects, etc. a maximum of two components can be downloaded at a time in parallel per hostname as per HTTP/1.1 specification.

With the launch of IE 8 the maximum number of download requests got changed to 6 which means faster browsing experience compared to its previous versions. The reason Microsoft changed this is because of the faster internet connection speeds now a days.

Increase this download limit 10 and speed up your Internet Explorer (You must have IE 5.5 or higher version)

There are two ways to do that:-

The Easier Way:

  1. Download the Fix This Program link from the Microsoft KB (don’t worry since you are downloading the program from the Microsoft website)
  2. Run the program and you are on!

Doing it manually:

This requires a bit of registry edit. If you are comfortable with editing your system registry, go to this link, browse to the “Let me fix it myself” section and follow the steps.

Happy browsing :) ! BTW which browser you love the most?

How to Log In to Yahoo Messenger with Multiple User Accounts?

A lot of us wish to be online in Yahoo Messenger with multiple user accounts. It is possible to open multiple instances of GTalk at the same time as I have explained before. But is that possible with Yahoomessenger as well? Yes it is.

To log in to Yahoo Messenger with multiple user accounts you have to edit the Windows registry. Forget it; just follow these simple steps:

  • Go to your Windows Start menu » Run
  • Type regedit and hit enter
  • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER » Software » Yahoo » pager » Test
  • Now click New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value
  • Type Plural, and hit the enter key
  • In the right pane, right-click Plural, and click on Modify
  • In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, type 1 under Value data.

That’s it! Now run as many instances of Y! Messenger as you wish to and login with your various accounts.

Happy chatting ;) !

Wondering whether your image is re-produced somewhere else in the web without your permission? OR Wondering whether the image you are seeing appears anywhere else on the web? Well in both cases you have to use Google Image search or manually visit web pages which again is a tough ask. The solution to this is TinEye, a reverse image search engine with over 1 billion images in its index (and growing). TinEye is in beta and was created by Idée Inc.

Check out this video to understand how this reverse image search engine actually works:

To learn more about how TinEye works, benefits of using this web app, etc. please check its FAQ section.

There are various ways you may use TinEye. It can be a Firefox/IE plugin, a bookmarklet (which can analyze all the images inside a web page). You may also upload an image or use the image URL to check. Please check its plugin page for more details.

So next time before using copyrighted images think twice ;) !
