The much discussed Firefox 3.5 is officially released by the Mozilla corporation. Competing with browsers like Opera, Safari, Chrome, IE 8 the much popular open source browser had to deliver something unique to its ever increasing user base. And it did that too! Here are some of the key features integrated in this release:

#1 Firefox 3.5 Faster Than Ever Before
The newly launched version comes with TraceMonkey JavaScript engine which will help the browser to load complex web applications like email, photo sharing sites, social networks faster compared to its previous version (2 times faster than Firefox 3, 10 times faster than Firefox 2).
#2 Private Browsing Mode
A new “Private Browsing Mode” has been inducted in this latest release. If you switch on this browsing mode Firefox will not remember any of the browsing info (URLs, user names, passwords or cookies). Late night browsing get safer for you I guess
Also it will close all your currently opened browser windows before the private browsing mode is switched on and once you opt to switch off the mode and return to normal browsing it will restore all the previously opened windows and tabs.
#3 XHR Support
This is a great news for web developers. Firefox 3.5 will support cross-site XMLHttpRequests. What that means is your site will now be able to access content from other servers if configured properly. This will open up new mashups and pave the way for online collaboration in the days ahead.
#4 Forget A Particular Site Recently Browsed - Leave No Footprints
If you wish to erase the URL of a particular site you might have browsed recently, you need not clean up the whole History list anymore. Just go to History and from the Library select the page you want to erase and click on “Forget about this site”. Handy feature isn’t it? Earlier we gave you a tip on how you can use the Firefox address bar as Google’s I am feeling lucky feature.
#5 Tell The Site Where You Are Located
Geo targeted customization of web pages is a common feature now a days. This version of Firefox goes one lever deeper and may locate your precise location via Google Location Services. Of course the browser will ask for your permission before sending the location info.
#6 Better Tab Experience
You will get a whole new experience of tabbed browsing. Much like IE 7 a small button for new tab addition have been included. Along with it a new feature will let you relocate a tab in any window anytime. So from window 1 you will be able to relocate a tab to window 3 with ease!
#7 Restore Recently Closed Tab/Window
With this feature you will be able to restore any tab(s) or window(s) that you may have accidentally closed with the click of a button thus making life easier than before.
So why wait? Update/Upgrade your browser to Firefox 3.5 now! BTW do schedule your tweets, FB notes, blog posts for Tuesday 3:50 PM (BRT) if you want to join the Shiretoko Shock.
